about

Cut from the same deep sessions that yielded Bacchus Tapes 6 (Poseideon: cordtapes.bandcamp.com/album/poseideon ) and the two Multiplicative pieces presented on the Psoma 29 split with NYZ, these three longform recordings are detailed and hypnotic studies of feedback in motion: sampled, looped, overlaid in multiple pitches equally tuned apart from one another, until a swirling sea of incomprehensible frequency-bending wash surrounds the listener, filling up eardrums, rooms, whole universes, before being pulled down the drain of a black-hole low pass filter. A no-input configuration using an SSM-1750 mixing board (built and sold by Radio Shack in 1995) was the sole sound source utilized to create these intense landscapes.

Inspired by recordings from the noisier and quieter end of the beatless music and synthesis spectrum (Vainio, Chartier, Aube, Lopez, Omit, Acre), Psoma 30 can be used as a mental cleansing device, a utility of equalization and balancing, recalibrating and resetting your input receivers to better function after you've been completely clogged up by the information age. Additionally, it can also take the form of a negating fortress, an impenetrable wall that drowns out the difficult and unpleasant outside world that many of us wish to remove ourselves from at various times.

100% of the proceeds from sales of Psoma 30 (as well as Psoma 29) will be sent to the NAACP Legal Defense Fund. Fuck racism, fascism, sexism, homophobia, bigotry, discrimination and hatred in all forms. www.naacpldf.org
