While an otherwise unaware observer might think that issuing five triple-album sets of Noyzelab drones, in five months, might be too much, those in-the-know will understand that there is no such thing as "maximum" when it comes to David Burraston's drones. They are endless macrocosms of sound, a sonic drug of transmuted galactic bodies and alchemical distillation. They ARE.
So, it is with great pleasure that Psøma Psi Phi is able to offer the first NYZ release in the catalog since the 4xCD DSP TRX: a three-track 90-minute excursion bearing the title TESCO SYNFETIX.
TESCO, at first listen, may seem to hover in the air with a static disposition, but upon deeper listening (and especially at higher volumes) it becomes quite clear that this is not a stasis of any kind, but a LONG and SLOW vessel moving glacially through fluorescent space. The occasional buzz and rattle of a machine in an adjacent room occurs, a subtle reminder of this synthesized passage through some unmapped void. The high frequency whine of what could be thousands of hydraulic veins pries open the stereo field to blinding widths, and the soft detuned midrange fog of CRT monitors and ground hum massage the eardrums beneath it. Further back, further down and further out are sublime sub-bass structures, the warm engine core of whatever this gargantuan ship really is.
The whole physical experience of TESCO SYNFETIX brings to mind what it might sound like to travel inside something, that is inside a larger something, that is moving behind and between dimensions at unfathomable speeds, folding spacetime to reach otherwise impossible destinations. A psychedelic and illuminating listen, no matter what your mind's eye casts out for the duration, and an engrossing addition to Burraston's masterful catalog of synthesizer music at Psøma Psi Phi.
NOTE: The limited edition 90-minute cassette contains the complete and unabridged TESCO SYNFETIX album, with three tracks. The digital version consists of only the second track.
NOTE: After some confusion from listeners, we'd like to make clear the fact that all NYZ/Noyzelab catalog releases at Psoma are available ONLY as abridged digital versions for name-your-price/free download, and in their full unabridged editions as physical CD-Rs. There is not an unabridged digital version of anything from NYZ at Psoma, and the physical editions do not ship with unabridged digital versions either (that is, if you do not count the digital music present on the compact discs). For listeners only interested in unabridged digital versions, we encourage you to visit noyzelab.bandcamp.com to purchase those directly from NYZ, or even better, subscribe to his Bandcamp output and just get everything.

Fyans is one of many documenting his modular synthesizer studies here, however, he is one of the few among them who is able to make the machines speak, instead of letting them babble. Psøma Psi Phi
