about

'Diminishment' is one of several extended sessions recorded throughout 2022-2023 that focus upon bass frequencies and deriving unique textural output from the application of various saturations of gain. 'Diminishment' was initially recorded in 2022 as a simple sub-bass session built by recording ground hum, and subsequently processing it through a resonant low-pass analog filter. This recording was then further mutated by multiple granular processors, using fast Fourier transforms to elongate it, before being split into two mono sides and rerouted through a vintage Yamaha MA-10 amplifier from 1981, and reassembled into the stereo recording presented here.

Musically, 'Diminishment' is best experienced on closed-ear headphones or open-air speaker systems with an emphasis on considerable bass frequency output capabilities. Maximum volume yields maximum results.
