about

An alternative mix of "Sustain", which originally appeared alongside David Burraston's field recordings of Bethungra Dam on a split release (Psoma 18), offered as a longer and deeper experience, yielding totally different harmonic responses and glacial, resonant tones now brought to the forefront of audio playback systems with a wide range of output and ample sub-bass response. Inspired in equal parts by Earth, Folke Rabe and Aube, Sustain explores the relationships of resonant metal-coil springs through careful sampling and processing via an array of modern and not-so-modern sampler systems, including a Boss RC-20 & RV-3, Alesis Quadraverb, Korg ES-1 & Volca Sample and an Akai S2800, with final mastering and editing taking place in a software environment using filtering and reverberation tools developed by Arturia, Image Line and Goldwave.
